I feel like everyone has that room in their house that just sits their unused. This was the case for us. We had an office/craft room that was touched maybe once a month, the set up was adorable as all get out, but absolutely useless.
Maddox, our adorable little man, was given a Lovevery play gym as an infant and I absolutely loved it, but it’s home was not going to be in the middle of our living room. Call me crazy, but it drove me nuts. That’s when I decided to sell our office furniture and create a play space for Maddox.

Let me tell you, how happy I am that I did this! First off, it gives his toys a “home” that’s not in the middle of our living room floor. Secondly, this room is away from any screen, giving us all the opportunity to be fully hands on and not distracted by any television. Lastly, The possibilities in this room are endless and leave exploration completely open.

I am so happy that we got rid of that unused office and created this fun play place. This room has turned into the most used room in our home and my favorite room. Now, does this room stay perfect? Absolutely not!!! But, that’s what it is meant for! It’s meant for mistakes to be made, fun to be had, and exploration to learn. It’s his play area for him to grow!

Let’s talk about this shelf, because people are always asking where it came from. Well, my dad made it for me when I was a little girl to hold all my toys. It’s purpose has changed as I got older, but I continued to use it everywhere I lived. When I was a teenager/young adult it was filled with picture frames and decorations. Now, it’s being put back to the use it was intended for, but this time for my son. This is actually one of two shelving units that were made, because the other continues to be used as decoration and displays family pictures in our living room.

What does this playroom look like in action? Well, it can all be folded up and put away for a nice open play space like the above pictures, or we can have fun and create an indoor playground. I love the black sofa because it can even flatten out and become a small bed. I am always changing the layout of the room and moving things around. I don’t know which way we enjoy better, because every time we change it new fun is had. This room has been perfect as it grows and develops right along side of Maddox. This play space is endless.
